the green pieces of paper in your wallet now are not money. They are paper that the GOVERNMENT says is money & they can say it isnn’t any time they want as well. it happened recently in Argentina, overnight the money was no good anymore & they reissued new “money” that would buy far far less than what they called “money” before. Gold/Silver/Copper have always been money & whatever governemnts or corporations say they always will be. Food/Water/Bullets/Seeds/Gold/Silver/coppr
I hear they need 15kg of .999 silver per smart bomb like they dropped on Libya recently. I don’t think they will confiscate silver jewelry, silverware, platters, etc. If you have some made into items like that they won’t take those (if they can’t find your coins those might be safe too, who would put them in a bank?). I think you should get silver for a good price whenever you find it in whatever form.

@randytate Sure it will….until precious metals crash! Look…if this whole housing debacle should have taught us one thing….its that huge price hikes = bubble in the making. Imgonna wait tillthey get to 2000 and then throw some puts on them.
@chefshitpiece I think the idea is, if you have money now, use it to buy precious metals because in the near future, the money won’t be worth anything but the PMs will still be worth something.

I hate to break it to you but metals won’t be the money. (They should be and was and have been) If metals were used the west would be 3rd world nations… to go around this, the new money will be electronic money (we are already using it and are used to it) money will be digits and nothing more….wait and see.

I talked to my local gold/silver dealer when I bought my first 10 oz silver bar. I showed him some my recently-acquired old “junk” silver coins. They affirmed that such coins are all good for their melt value. A good guide is “coinflation” on line, for it gives the melt value of many common pieces, then go look for places selling them near this melt value. I picked up some mercury dimes recently, have some kennedy 1964 halves, peace dollars, and the like.

@kellerj0 The move is amazing! Before it took off it was a bumpy ride, I got lots of messages from people who were beginning to lose confidence in silver, the ones with weak hands lost out.
I bought a bunch of silver coins in june (less than 6 months ago) at about $18/oz and ALREADY my investment is within spitting distance of doubling. I’m just sad that I didn’t buy more. Dec. 11 sounds like a good day to reinvest!
